Libya: the Avocats Sans Frontières Network with the victims

Libyan lawyers and families of victims requested the assistance of the Avocats Sans Frontières Network with respect to the atrocities attributed to the armed forces of the Muammar Gaddafi regime.

Libyan citizens whose families had been victims of crimes against Humanity committed by Colonel Muammar Gaddafi forces requested the assistance of Avocats Sans Frontières France.

These people wished the Avocats Sans Frontières Network defend them before the International Criminal Court, after its recourse to the United Nations Security Council at the end of February 2011.

Some of our lawyers had a good knowledge of the Libyan situation as they previously provided legal assistance to 5 Bulgarian nurses and Palestinian doctor who were sentenced to death after being accused of deliberately infecting Libyan children with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.

In April 2011, an Italian lawyer and a French lawyer, on behalf of the ASF Network, went to Benghazi.
They gathered several testimonies from the victims as well as some video recordings.
